If you’ve ever walked into one of my classes, you’ve probably noticed the smell of Nag Champa straight away. 🍃
That’s completely on purpose!
Smell is the fastest sense we have for triggering memories and emotions. When you come to class and relax, your brain starts linking that specific smell to feeling safe, calm, and off-the-clock.
After a few visits, your body remembers. The second you walk through the door and catch that scent, your brain tells your nervous system, "We're safe here, time to drop your shoulders."

You don't even have to wait for the class to start—your body starts unwinding the second you step into the room. 🧘‍♀️

You load up the car, spend hours marketing, drive over, set everything up, and get ready to hold space... only for an intruder alarm to go off on repeat with a system fault that can't be fixed.

Having to cancel a session breaks my heart. Beyond the lost income for the day, it's the feeling of letting people down after they’ve made time in their day to come and relax.

But with high-pitched sirens blaring, there was simply no way to offer the peaceful environment everyone signed up for.

Running a business in shared community spaces means you're always at the mercy of unpredictable venue glitches. I do feel very lucky that after 5 years of teaching in community spaces, this is the very first time something like this has ever happened—it’s just a tough pill to swallow when it does.

A huge thank you to everyone who was booked on today for being so incredibly understanding and kind about the situation. It really means the world when things out of our control go wrong.

Did it last ages? Absolutely not.

Because little ears and nervous systems are so sensitive, kids' soundbaths are meant to be short, sweet, and kept at a super soft, gentle volume.

For a few precious minutes in the middle of summer holiday noise, they laid down, put their eye pillows on, took some big belly breaths, and listened to the soft resonance of the crystal bowls.

There was zero expectation for them to lie perfectly still, but even just a brief pause teaches them that it’s okay to slow down, regulate, and take time out when things feel busy.

There’s this myth that being a yoga teacher means drinking green smoothies, meditating in total silence, and having your entire life seamlessly calm 24/7.

Honestly, that’s not really me. My actual happy place is sitting in the sunshine with a cold beer, camping in a field, and paddling down a river birdwatching.

This weekend was all about getting off the grid and making core childhood memories for my 5-year-old and my niece. Paddling down the water, my parents dog precariously balanced in the boat, ice cream and beer stops, and zero rush to be anywhere in beautiful Symonds Yat.

I took a couple of quick photos to capture the moment, put my phone away, and kept it switched off for most of the weekend.

This is how I reset, come back to myself, and fill my heart with gratitude—remembering why we're here.

Being a yogi isn’t about being perfect or living in a bubble. It’s about being fully present for the messy, beautiful, real-life moments with the people you love, and actually noticing them while they're happening.

Go do what refills your cup and make the memories. 🤍

Anyone who knows me knows I love a holiday and will jump on a plane at any given opportunity! ✈️

But we had such a brilliant time in London that just a few days away genuinely felt like a week-long break.

It was such a great reminder to be a tourist in your own country—because even I forget how much magic is sitting right on our doorstep! And in London, how much free stuff for kids is out there!

When I’m not teaching, my absolute favorite thing is stepping into 'full holiday mode'!

This summer, I wanted to slow down, get out of our usual routine, and just see the city through her eyes for a few days.

We rowed pedal boats, ran through water fountains, navigated the Tube, and found a restaurant where the table was an actual interactive games console (safe to say that was a massive hit!)

Taking time to explore, play, and just be present and slow down. Life is busy, so to just have no set place to be at a certain time is my favourite.

It drives me wild and honestly tests every single thing I’ve ever learned about being a peaceful human. 😅

Olive insists on helping me set up for Yoga Nidra every time, which usually means destroying my neat blanket folds and moving all the props around. She even squeezed in a bit of @cosmickidsyoga in the middle of it all to "test it out" and told me she wants to "make it lovely for everyone." 🥹

Does it double my prep time? Yes. Is it total chaos? Absolutely. But I love how much she feels the energy in this room.

Everyone talks about the 8/8 portal being about abundance and manifestation, but for me, manifestation without action is just wishful thinking.

Lately, I’ve been actively trying to "collect NOs."

It sounds weird, but if I’m not getting any "no's," it means I’m playing it safe. It means I’m staying comfy, not pitching big ideas, and not asking for what I actually want.

So today, I’m putting myself out there—sending the messages, asking for the big opportunities, and taking the leap. If it’s a "no," fine, it wasn't meant for me. But if it’s a "yes"? That's where things get good.
